Divine Intervention Episode 65 – Ventilator Physiology For The USMLEs (an overview)

In this podcast, I discuss essentially all you need to know about vents as relevant to the USMLE exams (Step 1-3). I also discuss a host of HY ABG scenarios that commonly show up on these exams. There are no slides as all needed information is in the podcast. A more detailed vent podcast will come in a future episode. QUICK CORRECTION- AROUND MINUTE 11, I MISTAKENLY SWITCH WORDS WHEN DEFINING A SHUNT. THE TRUE DEFINITION IS THAT A SHUNT REPRESENTS A REGION OF LUNG THAT IS PERFUSED WITHOUT VENTILATION. MY EXPLANATION IS CORRECT BUT THAT ONE DEFINITION IS WRONG SO TAKE NOTE!
