In this podcast, I continue our review of Biochemistry as relevant to the USMLE Step 1 Exam. A lot of our time is spent on Sugar metabolism and Fatty Acid Synthesis along with some information on regulation and associated pathologies. Divine Intervention Episode 14-Comprehensive Immuno Pharmacology and The Monoclonal Alphabet.
In this episode, I discuss all the drugs that are tested in the context of Immunology for The USMLE Step 1 exam. I also go over all the monoclonal antibodies that are tested on the exam (basically every monoclonal that is found in First Aid for The USMLE Step 1, 2018). I discuss the mechanism of action and other HY tidbits related to these monoclonals. There are no slides for this podcast (all you need is in the recording).
Divine Intervention Episode 13 – Metabolism Review A.
In this podcast, I discuss some HY metabolic pathways that are classically tested on the USMLE Step 1 Exam. There’s a lot of pharmacology, pathology, and physiology discussed here. Slides attached.Divine Intervention Episode 13-Metabolism A
Divine Intervention Episode 12-Bacterial Cases A.
In this first podcast relating to bacteria (one of many to come), I discuss some HY information relating to more than a dozen bugs. The info is largely integrated with other micro, pharm, physiology, and cell biology. Slides attached.Divine Intervention Episode 12-Bacteria Cases A
Divine Intervention Episode 11-Glycogen and Lysosomal Storage Diseases.
In this episode, I review 2 high yield topics that are necessary for the USMLE Step 1 Exam; the glycogen and lysosomal storage diseases. I review glycogenesis, glycogenolysis, and some gluconeogenesis as well. There are no slides attached (all you need is in the podcast). I would certainly encourage you to keep these topics in mind with Step 1/2CK/Peds Shelf.
Divine Intervention Episode 10 – Comprehensive GI Pharmacology.
This podcast essentially covers all the GI Pharmacology that is tested on board exams (especially the USMLE Step 1). I try to integrate physiology and pathology. No slides attached but all the information you need is in the podcast.
Divine Intervention Episode 9 – Studying For The USMLE Step 2CK.
In this podcast, I give an overview of the USMLE Step 2 CK exam and discuss absolutes I think are necessary to do well on the test, study resources, some thoughts on question analysis and test taking strategies, and a final word on registering for the USMLE Step 2CS exam.
Divine Intervention Episode 8 – Comprehensive Heme Pharmacology.
In this podcast, I discuss essentially everything you need to know for any board exam (aka The USMLEs) relating to drugs that affect primary and secondary hemostasis. There’s a lot of integration with other pharmacology, a lot of physiology, and a lot of pathology. There are no attached slides (less useful for what I tried to accomplish with the podcast). All you need is clearly discussed.
Divine Intervention Episode 7-Viral Cases C and Fungal Cases.
In this podcast, I discuss high yield clinical and exam testable information relating to the remaining viruses we have not expressly covered and essentially all fungi tested on the USMLE exams. Slides attached.Divine Intervention Episode 7 Viral Cases CFungal Cases
Divine Intervention Episode 6 – 20 in about 20 minutes (Pharmacology Cases).
In this podcast, I highlight 20 cases geared primarily towards discussing pharmacology with some integration of biochemistry, pathology, physiology, and even some anatomy. All the best to M4’s tomorrow. Praying we all have good news!
