In this podcast, I continue our review of cardiology as relevant to the USMLE Step 1 with a discussion of congenital heart defects. This is a very HY podcast and I also draw correlations to some other HY anatomical/hematological concepts. There are no attached slides.
Divine Intervention Episode 171 – USMLE Step 1 Cardiology Review Series 4 (and Podcast App Update!)
In this episode, I cover a very HY series of topics relating to cardiology as tested on the USMLE Step 1 Exam. I explain pathophysiology and specifically discuss the classic presentation of these disorders. Topics discussed here are very high value and show up on the vast majority of NBME exams (including 2CK and 3). There are no attached slides.
The podcasts on this website are now also accessible on Apple podcasts, Google play music, and spotify. As always, slides and other relevant supplemental material will remain on the website.
Divine Intervention Episode 170 – The IMG Guide (ERAS, USMLEs, General Recommendations).
In this episode, I discuss a host of considerations pertinent to being an international medical graduate with a focus on applying to residency in the US. I discuss some subtle things that IMGs may not necessarily pay attention to that ends up putting them in tough situations on the USMLEs and with residency apps. There are no attached slides.
Divine Intervention Episode 169 – The Clutch Nephrotic/Nephritic Syndrome Podcast.
In this podcast, I cover everything you can ever wish to know/understand about the HY nephrotic and nephritic syndromes that show up on Step 1, 2CK, 3, and the IM exams. I very rapidly cover the material in different layers and discuss classic findings, clinical presentation, diagnostic testing, treatment, and pathophysiology to help with really cementing the material. You’ll have to work incredibly hard to ever get any nephrotic/nephritic syndrome question wrong on pretty much any medical exam after listening to this. There are no attached slides.
Divine Intervention Episode 168 – USMLE Step 1 Rapid Review Series 11 (Integrated).
In this episode, I continue our rapid review series for the USMLE Step 1 Exam with what I call an “integrated” podcast. In this podcast, I probably go over close to 60 scenarios that are testable on the USMLE Step 1 Exam. Across all 45 mins, I end up ultimately discussing micro, pharm, biochem, heme-onc, genetics, neuro, and many others. There are no attached slides.
Divine Intervention Episode 167 – USMLE Step 2CK Rapid Review Series 21 (Cardio).

Divine Intervention Episode 165 – Comprehensive USMLE Step 1 Cardiology Review 3.
In this episode I continue our comprehensive cardiology review series for the USMLE Step 1 exam with a discussion of HY cardiac pathologies. I would strongly recommend listening to the early part of Episode 5 on this website as I discuss the pathophysiology behind some of the physical exam maneuvers and how they affect murmur intensity. Note that Part 1 is Episode 116 and Part 2 is Episode 154. There are no attached slides.
Divine Intervention Episode 164 – The Clutch Toxicology Podcast (Drugs of abuse, overdose, withdrawal, toxidromes).
In this episode, I review a wide range of material pertinent to toxicology as tested on the USMLE Step 1, 2CK, and 3 exams. I discuss toxicities of many drugs, toxidromes, drugs of abuse, reversal agents, etc. This stuff is very HY and represents material you absolutely want to know on any USMLE based exam. There are no attached slides.
Divine Intervention Episode 163 – USMLE Step 2CK Rapid Review Series 19 (Surgery, Abdomen).
In this episode, I continue our rapid review series although this podcast is on the more lengthy end of the spectrum (50 mins). It is a decently comprehensive drive-bye of the vast majority of the GI complaints you’ll see tested on an NBME surgery exam. I essentially discuss the major pathologies of every key organ below the diaphragm extending all the way to the pelvis. This would also be useful for a student preparing for a SPEX exam during a surgery rotation. There are no attached slides.
