In this podcast, I conceptually explain the 5 different gaps tested on the USMLEs (Serum AG, Urine AG, Osmolal gap, SAAG gradient, and A-a gradient). I make numerous integrations and really help you understand these things so you don’t have to memorize them. Another point of emphasis (low SAAG ascites is similar conceptually to exudative effusions). If you’re interested in the Step 1-3 classes beginning next week, shoot me an email.

DIP Ep 614: USMLE Step 2/3 Rapid Review Series 126 (Basic Sciences)
Our friends at the NBME love to throw in quite a number of basic science topics on the more recent USMLE administrations. In this podcast, I address a number of these topics by using common exam scenarios and making tons of useful integrations.
DIP Ep 609: ANS Drugs For Step 2 and 3 (Very HY)
In this podcast, I discuss ANS drugs as tested on Step 2 and 3. This drug class makes its way into many USMLE Qs. Many students struggle with it because they don’t know what matters and what is less important (compared to Step 1 material). This podcast fixes that issue handily. Lots of free points on your exam here.
DIP Ep 608: Herbal Supplements and The USMLEs
In this podcast, I address the common herbal supplements and the many different ways they could be tested on the USMLEs in the form of clinical vignettes. Know these and you should be pretty set for this content (Step 1-3).
DIP Ep 606: Drug Interactions For The USMLEs (Step 1-3)
This is easily one of the most important podcasts I have ever made. You will see this material on your USMLE exams. There’s no test taking strategy that will save you here. I would categorize this as material that you either know or don’t know. Learn this stuff as well as you can. Know the interactions (and their mechanisms). I highlight them very well and make tons of integrations here.
DIP Ep 569: Some Weird But Very HY Step 2/3 Basic Science Concepts (also helpful for Step 1)
This podcast is an oddball podcast. But you know what? It’s pretty HY to know this stuff for Step 2CK and 3. This stuff would also be very useful for a Step 1 taker as there is more emphasis on a clinical orientation with many Step 1 questions these days. I also discuss some test taking principles and wisdom related to how the USMLEs set up exam questions and answer choices. Worth your while for sure!
Divine Intervention Episode 545: USMLE Step 2CK/3 Rapid Review Series 116
In this podcast, I discuss a very specific drug interaction our friends at the NBME love to go after on Step 1-3. I give a rich number of examples. I conclude by discussing 1-2 more concepts that often show up as well. Shorter podcast so this should be a quick listen.
Divine Intervention Episode 484: Step 2 and 3 Drugs Series 1 (Pain Control)
In this series, I will be discussing pharmacology purely from a Step 2 and 3 perspective. For those studying for Step 1, use the Step 1 specific pharmacology podcasts I have. In this series, we start off discussing the drugs used for the primary control of pain like acetaminophen, NSAIDs, and opioids and the diverse ways our friends at the USMLEs love to test them. See you in the next podcast.
Divine Intervention Episode 475: Beta 2/3 Receptors and the USMLEs (for Step 1-3)
In this concluding podcast relating to the adrenergic receptors, I discuss the beta 2 and 3 receptors and how they are tested on the USMLE exams. Lots of helpful integrations here for easy points. I end with a short life lesson as well.
Divine Intervention Episode 474: Beta-1 Receptors and the USMLEs (Step 1-3)
In this podcast, we continue our detailed discussion of the adrenergic receptors with a deep dive into the beta 1 receptor and the many different contexts it’s tested in on the USMLE exams. Don’t sleep on this podcast. A lot of what I discuss here shows up routinely on all the USMLEs.
