In this short podcast, I talk about my strategy for dealing with drug ads, timing, and spaced repetition for the USMLE exams. I also talk about how to approach the “new” USMLE Step 2CK exam. At the end, I spend time discussing a new 10 hr “HY Booster” Step 2CK/3 course that I have offered on a 1-on-1 basis for a while now. The Step 1 analog runs for about 20 hrs. The course has been in testing for a few months and has gotten overwhelmingly good feedback. There are no attached slides.

Divine Intervention Episode 154 – Comprehensive USMLE Step 1 Cardiology Review 2
In this episode, I continue our discussion of cardiology as relevant to the USMLE Step 1 exam (continuation from Episode 116 and Episode 5). My ultimate goal is to cover everything in the FA for Step 1 book. I explain mechanisms and discuss classic presentations. There are no attached slides.
Divine Intervention Episode 150 – Comprehensive USMLE Renal Pharmacology 3.
In this podcast, I continue our review of renal pharmacology. I discuss mechanisms and HY integrations with many of the diuretics. There’ll be one more short podcast to complete the series. There are no attached slides.
Divine Intervention Episode 149 – Comprehensive USMLE Renal Pharmacology 2.
In this episode, I continue our review relating to renal pharm. In this podcast, I pursue a lot of integration with other disciplines. There’s a good # of USMLE questions you’d get right from this one podcast. There are no attached slides.
Divine Intervention Episode 146 – Comprehensive USMLE Renal Pharmacology Part 1.
In this episode, I begin a discussion of renal pharmacology as pertinent to the USMLE Step 1 Exam. I integrate my discussion with multiple disciplines. Note that there is also a detailed, comprehensive renal review series for Step 1 (Episodes 52-54). For this podcast, there are no attached slides.
Divine Intervention Episode 143 – The Clutch Biostats Review (Comprehensive for all the USMLE exams).
In this episode, I use a large # of questions (hopefully thoughtful ones) to discuss the vast majority of biostats concepts tested on all the USMLE exams (and also the ABIM/Medicine ITE). I emphasize understanding the concepts as against mindlessly memorizing formulas. If you want to become very good at biostats with little or no use of 2 by 2 tables, this is the podcast for you. This podcast should help you understand things enough to reason things out and do very minimal math quickly and efficiently on these exams. THERE ARE ATTACHED SLIDES BELOW! Follow and annotate them as you study.
Divine Intervention Episode 140 – ABIM/Medicine ITE/USMLE Step 3 Review Series 10 (Nephro 2)
In this episode, I continue our review for the above named exams with a HY discussion relating to nephrology. I spend the bulk of this podcast discussing the diseases of the glomerulus. There are no attached slides.
Divine Intervention Episode 138 – The Clutch Genetic Diseases Podcast (especially for Step 2CK and Step 1) + Some Thoughts on The New 2CK Exam
In this episode, I perform a very high level review of the vast majority of the genetic diseases tested on the USMLE exams. For those taking 2CK, I would strongly recommend not neglecting this podcast. The same recommendation goes to the folks taking Step 1. At the 32 minute mark, I take a small “podcast break” to give my thoughts on how the NBME appears to be approaching the new Step 2CK questions which tends to offer people a lot of stress and anxiety. You will be doing yourself a huge disservice not learning the bulk of this podcast. If you master this, genetic diseases should be a non-issue going forward. There are no attached slides.
Divine Intervention Episode 135 – The “Clutch” Electrolyte Podcast
In this episode, I thoroughly examine essentially all major electrolytes tested on the USMLE exams. If electrolytes (Na, K, Ca, Mg, Zn, and other minors) are a problem, this is the podcast you need. This will make those elyte problems go away. I can of course offer no guarantees but this is one of those “net you 20-25 correct questions on USMLE Step 1/2CK/3 exam” sort of podcasts. Probably one of the highest yield on this website and very highly recommended before taking any USMLE exam. Even a resident will find this to be extremely useful. I explain all these electrolytes with a copious number of scenarios and underlying pathophysiology. There are no attached slides.
Divine Intervention Episode 132 – The Floridly High Yield USMLE Social Sciences Review (For Step 2CK, Step 3, and maybe Step 1)
In this episode, I discuss a lot of weird but HY commonly tested social science concepts from the USMLE exams written by the NBME. This podcast is specifically designed to help with those bizarro questions that test non-classical concepts not commonly discussed/covered in most study materials. In this podcast I discuss issues related to palliative/end of life/hospice/pain control care, diagnostic errors/biases, patient safety/QI, professionalism, standardized medical practices (like patient hand offs), ethical conundrums, HIPAA, advanced directives, substance abuse, quick run through of HY vaccines/screening guidelines, and a few more important concepts. You should absolutely listen to this before taking any of the USMLE exams (especially 2CK or 3). Super easy points if you know them. There are no attached slides.
