Divine Intervention Episode 338 – Fetal Heart Rate Tracings Made Easy

People hate FHR tracings. But they are very easy if you have the right mechanistic understanding and identification pattern. This short podcast addresses FHR tracings in ways that will help you not get these questions wrong anymore (including management). There’s an attached PDF here that has some drawings. To register for the 2CK/3/COMLEX course, email me via the website.

Divine Intervention Episode 332 – The Clutch Pleural Abnormalities/Effusions Podcast.

Pleural abnormalities are a topic that show up in some way on the USMLE Step 1-3 exams almost 100% of the time, typically with multiple questions per exam. This podcast discusses essentially all you need to know in an easy to understand format. I spend time on mechanisms, integrations, and classic presentations to help you nail down the information.

Divine Intervention Episode 326 – Pediatric Cardiology and Hemodynamic Changes for the USMLE exams.

The NBME is quite good at writing questions where they test your knowledge of pressures/volumes/hemodynamic changes associated with pediatric heart defects. Many MS3s/4s routinely get these questions wrong on exams. If you fall into this bucket, this podcast will effectively fix this problem. The concepts emphasized here are very heavily on the USMLE exams (Step 1-3) and peds shelf exams.

Divine Intervention Episode 323 – Immunocompromised Patients, Transplant Patients, and the USMLEs.

In this ultra HY podcast, I discuss a wide variety of scenarios and permutations of immunocompromised/transplant patients that commonly show up on the USMLE exams. Think of this as a continuation of Ep 173 (Immunodeficiency diseases). I explain pathophysiology and break things down in ways that makes understanding and remembrance easy. I end with a life lesson on “motivation”. For more info on the Step 2CK/3 class starting tomorrow (6/28-7/2), email me via the website.

Divine Intervention Episode 321 – The Clutch Metabolic Acidosis Podcast (for all USMLEs).

Metabolic acidosis is a floridly HY topic to know and understand for all the USMLE exams. Unfortunately, many people struggle with it and resort solely to memorizing lists of differentials which is not ideal. Do you want to conceptually understand metabolic acidosis (both high and normal anion gap) and see it’s integrations with multiple disciplines? If yes, this podcast accomplishes just that. The final fact I wanted to mention but forgot is that anion gap increases with age. There are no attached slides.
